i've kind of gone into hate mode, for certain things that have happened in my life as of late.

1. i'm apparently not elligible for management training at my current job, says the higher-ups. i don't have a four year degree, and i've only been working at the bank for about three years. it's funny how all of my bosses, all the other maryland managers, and the regional president can reccomend you for a management training program, and because you don't look right on paper, they automatically disqualify you. i'm probably the MOST qualified person to get into the program in all of maryland, yet, they aren't going to let me do it, at least, not at this point, because i don't have a piece of paper from a college saying that i've taken pointless english and math classes and know how to use a fucking calculator and computer. they better give me SOMETHING, otherwise, the job hunt begins.

2. the current president decided it would be best if he automatically lowered the amount of tax that we have to pay on our wages. yay! higher pay each time. now, this is beneficial to most people, since a lot of people that do their taxes can claim themselves. however, in my situation, my father has asked to claim me on his taxes, so he could get a tax break. because of this, i owe the feds about 400 bucks and i owe maryland about 200. granted, my dad will reimburse me. that's not the point though. if i claimed myself as an independent, then i would only receive about 160 in returns, total, from the feds and maryland. that is messed up. seriously. if i knew this was gonna happen, i would've withheld way more tax at the beginning of 2009. fucking government. this is who you voted though, america. uncle sam has bent me over his knee and spanked me violently, while you all cheer him on. thanks a lot.

as if i already don't hate enough things, i'm going to start hating EVERYTHING. that way, i can't be disappointed by anything, because i will see every negative thing come my way, or at least anticipate it.

...that probably won't work. i like food too much. mmm, food.

...and nutang. i like nutang.

Haha. I have never known a person to use the "hate the world" approach and be successful at it. Good like, friend. But there are so many other good things to look at and be happy about...even if these things don't effect you personally its nice to know that not EVERYTHING in life should be hated. Sometimes you get a nice surprise here and there!

Couldn't you do community college? That would be fairly inexpensive, I'd think.
» randomjunk on 2010-01-27 01:58:12

If you think about going back to college the bank will pay for classes they consider related. Say you went for a business degree, any of your economic or finance classes should be covered. You would have to pay upfront and then send in your grades to get reimbursed, but it's better than nothing.

that's just stupid.
I'm not talking about all the bad things that happened to poor sweet sankie down on his luck. I'm talking about your hate the world approach. GROW UP. You are not a child. That is one of the dumb-est things I have ever heard and yet I've heard it more than once. It's just self-destructive behavior.

Yeah, college is a good idea. Higher education is the only thing getting you higher salaries and more opportunities these days. Sucks but true. You'd be better off getting that ugly piece of paper now than getting one when you're fifty. Too late to climb the ladder then.

I know what you're talking about
Sadly, it seems not to have it. I should look for it...

Stupid government.

RE
We're going to the OBX of NC..It's our favorite palce, it's sort of tropical-ish but it's not super packed with tourists and it odesn't have that touristy feel in most places and we like that.

It's like high school. "Oh my god, I can't take this anymore! I am NEVER gonna like trust anyone again! Waaaah!"

I like the black/white/grey theme! What's wrong with that? And it's a picture of the station I get off every Sat for the past fifteen years. Plus, invisible's making me a new layout anyway. =P I'm just waiting for it.

You didn't even read the entry you commented in. Thanks, sankie.

I thought there was an age limit to when your parents were allowed to claim you ... but then again, these days you can never be sure of anything. MD has state tax? sucks mate. AZ had it too and I owed them two of the three years I filed taxes for there. that's about one of the only things I like about NV: no state tax. I only have to file for the feds this year.

There was a time when I cared about politics...and tried to pretend like I was educated enough to have my own, strong opinion. But truth is, I don't give a shit enough to really spend the time looking up the facts (if you can even find objective political information on the internet)....maybe I'll start caring once I have to pay $400 in tax returns to this and that government whosawhatsit, but for now...meh.

Hmm perhaps this bitter mood was spurred by previously occurring life events...?
